Spooky SZN is over sadly as officially being the holiday season and the final two months of 2023. A wide range of movies being released this month including a thriller, the next MCU installment, a thriller, a Thanksgiving Slasher, a war epic, a new Hunger Games and a sequel to a classic 90s movie? A busy month but here are the movies you should check out this November.
The Marsh King's Daughter
I'm oddly intrigued about this one. I enjoy a good thriller and with Daisy Ridley, Ben Mendelsohn and Garrett Hedlund leading the cast, I'm in. A solid looking trailer and the fact that it got an R-rating has me hopeful this will be a good film. (Release Date: November 3)
The Marvels
We get the 33rd installment of the MCU and the first MCU film since May which gave us the amazing film Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. I wasn't the biggest fan of Captain Marvel but I also didn't hate it like many did. I haven't watched much of the Disney Plus MCU shows so I prolly won't be 100% understanding the backstory but I think I can pick it up as I go. Also hoping this film has a decent villain. (Release Date: November 10)
Thanksgiving
Never thought I would see it but we are getting a Thanksgiving slasher movie. When I first saw the trailer I thought it was a joke but it is very real. It is being directed by Eli Roth who is best know for Cabin Fever and Hostel. Bring in the TikTok star Addison Rae (I'm assuming as the final girl) and who knows. (Release Date: November 17)
The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes
The odds are once again in your favor as we get the latest installment of The Hunger Games franchise. Serving as a prequel and set 64 years before the original film, this one will show us how President Snow rose to power and the inception of the hunger games. Not the biggest fan of The Hunger Games but I think it is a very interesting concept and is worth a watch. (Release Date: November 17)
Napoleon
Holy shit this looks really good. Ridley Scott out here directing bangers at 85 years old. Joaquin Phoenix looks to be giving potentially another Oscar worthy performance. I do enjoy a good war movie and this one looks solid. It also looks like it will be historically accurate which some movies tend to get away from. This one is worth seeing in the theaters. (Release Date: November 22)
Good Burger 2
This one is all about the nostalgia for me. I remember the original film from the 90s and I was thrilled to learn they were making a sequel. I was also hesitant since we have seen many sequels to classic movies totally suck but I'm hoping that is not the case here. Great to see Kenan and Kel back together and this one is a must watch for fans of the OG. (Release Date: November 22 on Paramount Plus)
I'm excited for most of these movies especially Napoleon and Good Burger 2. It could be a hot take but i think Thanksgiving might be better than many expect it to be. Which movies are you most excited to watch? Let me know in the comments. Cheers and Happy Viewing!
